Description
The itinerary allows you to get to know the exceptional richness of the mountain, from the glacier to the pastures.
It develops first at the foot of Monte Rosa, then on the orographic left side of the Anzasca valley.
Starting from the Belvedere (reachable by chairlift from Pecetto), almost the whole path develops on flat and downhill; some sections are equipped to make it passable to everyone.
From the Belvedere you cross the glacier along a marked route.
When you reach Alpe Fillar, you arrive at a fresh and green valley (alpine ibex).
Then you cross a snowfield formed by avalanches to get to the Alpe Roffelstaffel, where is carried out a conservative restoration.
Then begins the descent to Pecetto, along the old steps which were built by the alpine people who used the pastures. In the lower part of the trail it is possible to see the ibex.
Once you reach the left bank of the Anza, continue towards Pecetto following the easy road that descends from the Burki alp.
It is advisable to follow the itinerary at a calm pace to devote all the attention to the variety of the environment that surrounds you.
The nature trail can also be done in the opposite direction, climbing from Pecetto to the junction above the Roffel gorge, where (leaving the route to the Sella hut on the right) you have to turn left towards the Alpe Roffelstaffel, then the Alpe Fillar and, crossing the glacier, you arrive at the Belvedere.
